Our Madrasah is dedicated to providing quality Islamic education to children and young Teens alike. We strive to create a nurturing and engaging environment where students can grow in their knowledge and love of Islam. Here’s an overview of what our Madrasah offers:

Classes Offered

  1. Qur’an Recitation and Memorization (Tahfiz):
  • Beginners: Introduction to Arabic letters, basic Tajweed (pronunciation) rules, and simple Surahs.
  • Intermediate: Focus on Tajweed rules, fluency in recitation, and memorization of selected Surahs from Juz Amma.
  • Advanced: In-depth Tajweed, extensive memorization, and preparation for those intending to pursue Hifz (complete memorization of the Qur’an).
  1. Islamic Studies:
  • Aqaaid (Islamic Beliefs): Understanding the key aspects of Iman (faith), including belief in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, the Day of Judgment, and Qadr (divine decree). This course delves into the core tenets of Islamic theology, fostering a strong foundation in Islamic beliefs.
  • Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence): Comprehensive study of the practical aspects of Islam, including the Five Pillars of Islam (Shahada, Salah, Zakah, Sawm, and Hajj). This course covers daily acts of worship, personal conduct, and social interactions according to Islamic law, ensuring students understand how to implement these teachings in their lives
  • Seerah (Life of the Ambiya Alaihi-mus Salaam and Prophet Muhammad PBUH): Studying the life of the previous Prophets (Alahi-mus-salaam) and character of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and lessons from his Sunnah.
  • Akhlaq (Manners and Morality): Teaching Islamic manners, ethics, and the importance of good character.

Our Approach

Our Madrasah adopts a holistic approach to Islamic education, focusing not only on academic learning but also on the moral and spiritual development of our students. Our qualified and dedicated teachers are committed to fostering a deep understanding of Islamic principles and instilling a love for lifelong learning.

Interactive Learning: We employ modern teaching methods, including interactive activities, visual aids, and group discussions, to make learning engaging and effective.

Character Building: Emphasis is placed on character building, encouraging students to practice what they learn in their daily lives, embodying the values of kindness, honesty, and respect.

Class Timings:

  • Mon-Thurs: 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Enrollment: Enrollment is open throughout the year. We welcome students of all ages and backgrounds. To register, please fill out our online registration form or visit the Sunninghill Islamic Jamaat office during office hours.

Virtues of Acquiring Knowledge

Mu’awiyah reported:
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

مَنْ يُرِدْ اللَّهُ بِهِ خَيْرًا يُفَقِّهْهُ فِي الدِّينِ

If Allah intends goodness for someone, he gives him understanding of the religion. 
(Ṣaḥiḥ al-Bukhari; 71)

 

Abu Huraira reported:
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:

إِذَا مَاتَ الْإِنْسَانُ انْقَطَعَ عَنْهُ عَمَلُهُ إِلَّا مِنْ ثَلَاثَةٍ إِلَّا مِنْ صَدَقَةٍ جَارِيَةٍ أَوْ عِلْمٍ يُنْتَفَعُ بِهِ أَوْ وَلَدٍ صَالِحٍ يَدْعُو لَهُ

When the human being dies, his deeds end except for three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him.
